Is Prakash Raj’s next film a trilingual?
The actor has bought the remake rights of the Malayalam rom-com Salt 'N' Pepper
Actor Prakash Raj's recent trip to the film festival in Kerala has proved to be fruitful. He has bought the remake rights of "Salt 'N' Pepper", one of the critically-acclaimed hits released in Malayalam this year. We hear that the actor will be directing the remake version as well.
Confirming the news, a source close to the development says, "Prakash Raj will be remaking the film in all the other south Indian languages - Tamil, Telugu and Kannada." The actor had earlier produced the Tamil remake of the Telugu superhit "Happy Days" as "Inidhu Inidhu" and directed the "Naanu Nanna Kanasu", the Kannada remake of his Tamil production, "Abhiyum Naanum".
"Salt 'N' Pepper" is a romantic story between two couples who accidentally get to know each other through their common love for food. While it is unclear if Prakash will also be acting in the remake, there is speculation that he might do the lead role played by Malayalam actor-director Lal.
However, our source adds that the project will take off only after Prakash completes his Tamil directorial debut "Dhoni". "He wants to concentrate on "Dhoni" as its subject matter is close to his heart. The film has progressed to the dubbing stage and is likely to be released early next year," says the source.
